My Favorite Restaurant In Los Cristianos – Sol Y Luna
When it comes to food in Tenerife, there are so many great choices with authentic Canarian, Asian and international cuisine. Sometimes it’s hard to decide and not all of them will end up on the favorite list. If you feel like discovering a new place, here is my favorite restaurant.
Here are the criteria to be on my “Special List”
Human decency – The stuff and everyone connected to the restaurant has to be really kind and nice.
Super Clean Kitchen – The kitchen has to be clean and waiters and chefs neat and skillful.
Tasty Food – Food has to be, finger licking, yammy, delicious and portions generous.
Great coffee – Coffee has to be really, really, really, really good. :).
The One & Only Restaurante Sol Y Luna
When I first arrived in Tenerife, I worked in Sol Y Luna Restaurant as a PR, (not what you have in mind). I was the person calling passers by, inside. So… I know this restaurant better than the average visitor, but keep in mind, that I might be a little bit influenced by my own personal liking and respect. I know the stuff and the bosses individually and I think they are some of the finest people you will ever find in Tenerife. (Let’s say you forget your phone or anything valuable in the restaurant, it will be safely returned to you).
Don’t say later, you haven’t been warned, that I might be just a tad subjective. 🙂
Expect a wonderful view in this restaurant, Sol Y Luna is located next to the beach in Los Cristianos, with masses of twinkling lights sparkling before the Atlantic. In addition to the spectacularly decadent food, the highly professional staff, making this the perfect place for a romantic meal, Family gathering or a celebration of any kind.
Clara and Humberto are two sweetest human beings, you will love them for sure, as much as I do. Their service is excellent and they always go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and welcome.
Sol Y Luna offers a perfect ambiance for an intimate rendezvous, birthday, anniversary or festivity with its peachy soft lighting and a contemporary Canarian and International menu bursting with flair. The owners of Sol Y Luna, Eva Maria Cabrera (Evita), Jorge Paloma (Evita’s husband) and Frank Reilly, (the Scottish branch of the restaurant), are all very long time in hospitality business and their attention to details is exceptional.
Sol Y Luna has two chefs, both are very skilled and the only difference is; that Angel makes the food taste very rich and traditional and David light & modern bursting with flavor. (In my humble opinion).
The food is of superb quality and they have fantastic paella and mixes of fresh meat, seafood plates and tapas. The restaurant is great for both carnivores and vegetarians, portions are super generous and the prices are very affordable, which makes it a perfect spot for big party away with friends or Family.
Every Thursday and Friday Mariachi duo is entertaining the guests in the evening with a live Spanish music. Hope you visit Sol y Luna and see all of this for yourself. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Here is the part of the atmosphere, Brunella and I captured One Friday night. Enjoy. 🙂
